From installation to compatibility, we get a lot of questions from customers about our bidet seats. We compiled some of the most common ones below to help you choose the right bidet for your toilet and bathroom.you choose the right bidet for your toilet and bathroom.
Which is better for a small bathroom: a bidet seat with side-mounted controls or a remote?
In most cases, a bidet toilet seat with side mounted controls—also known as a side arm—will fit your bathroom just fine. However, if your toilet area is very cramped or in a corner, a bidet seat with a remote control may be a better choice.
Side arm controls add around two inches to the width of the seat, requiring a bit more clearance space. For example, our Swash Thinline T22 with a side arm is 17.6 inches wide, while our Swash Thinline T44 with a remote control is only 15 inches wide.

What is the best bidet seat for bathrooms with no nearby electrical outlet?
A non-electric bidet seat is a great way to add a bidet to your toilet if your bathroom doesn’t have an electrical outlet.
Non-electric bidet toilet seats, like our EcoSeat S101, deliver all of the hygienic benefits of an electronic bidet without the need for batteries or electricity. Some non-electric models feature warm water washes, like our EcoSeat S102, which hooks up to your bathroom sink’s hot water supply.

- refreshing, cool water washes
- self-cleaning, retractable nozzles
- separate nozzles for front and rear washes

- slow closing seat and lid to avoid slamming
- quick-release button for easy removal and cleaning
Will a bidet seat fit my Kohler or American Standard toilet?
Generally, Brondell non-electric and electronic bidet seats will fit most standard
Kohler or American Standard two-piece toilets. That said, there are some important
measurements to keep in mind to get the right fit. See below for more information.
Please note that, if you want to install a Brondell bidet on a skirted toilet,
you’ll need to purchase top mounting hardware.
Determine the shape of your toilet.
Before buying your bidet, you’ll need to check whether your toilet bowl is round or elongated. Generally, bidet seats come in both shapes but check the product page to make sure.

If you’re not certain whether your toilet is round or elongated, measure from the center of the toilet's bolt holes to the edge of the bowl and compare the results to the image above.
- If your measurement is 18"—19½" order an elongated bidet seat
- If your measurement is 16"—17¾" order a round bidet seat
Distance between the bolt holes.
Just like regular toilet seats, bidet seats mount using the toilet bolt holes, so knowing the distance between them is important to get the right fit.

To find this measurement on your toilet, measure from the center of the left bolt to the
center of the right bolt (see the illustration above).
Most Brondell bidet seats are designed to fit standard two-piece toilets with a 5.5-inch
abolt spread. The majority of toilets in the United States have this bolt spread, but there
are exceptions.
If your toilet’s bolt spread is wider than 5.5 inches, you still have options. Many Brondell
bidet seats are designed to fit a bolt spread of up to 7.7 inches. Check the bolt-spread
requirements on the product page of our bidet seats to make sure it’s compatible with your
toilet.
Distance from the center of the bolt holes to the toilet tank.

To fit most Brondell bidet seats, your American Standard or Kohler toilet needs at least 2
inches of clearance from the center of the bolt holes to the water tank. (Please see the
illustration above). Toilets with at least 1.5 inches of clearance may be compatible as
well, but the seat might extend slightly over the front edge of your toilet bowl.
Due to their curved design, French curve toilets require more clearance between the back
of the back of the bidet seat and the tank.
Please note: To properly fit our CL2200, T22, T44, T66, LS1600, LS1800, and the T22-OFCL,
the distance between the center of the bolt holes to the back of the toilet tank must be
at least 2 inches.
